Opening celebration Fri. May 10, 5pm – Beacon and sculptures from other artists at Watertown MA Community Sculpture Walk

May 8th, 2024

Watertown, Massachusetts has a wonderful path connecting the city center and riverside areas , and they have an equally wonderful public sculpture program that showcases art along the walkway. My sculpture, Beacon, is one of the sculptures now on view – #8 on the map, at Bacon and Main Streets (Rt. 20), near the Gateway Cafe and Moxley Playground. Beacon will remain on display for two years, through May 2026. On Friday May 10, 2024 from 5 to 6pm at Saltonstall Park (Winter St, near #37), the artists, including me, will be on hand to talk about the work – the public is invited.

For more about the Watertown Community sculpture walk, including videos of the work with the artists narrating, see  https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/3599639c4b454a18bc1183766a0566e2

Beacon – bronze and aluminum – 7 feet high – with this accompanying quote:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
